Cymarshall Law & Mr. Joeker – Martin, Malcolm and Madiba the second offering from the upcoming penetrative LP Hip-Hop in the Soul 3, has Cymarshall Law asking the question, who will be the next generation of leaders?
Spoon feeding more morsels of nourishment for the soul, Martin, Malcolm, Madiba speaks to the urgency of taking action in life instead accepting what the powers to be say is for you; it’s forging your own path, standing up, and making a difference instead of just accepting what’s given to you in life. Influenced by some of Hip-hop’s most powerful voices including KRS1, Public Enemy, Dead Prez, Common and Russell Simmons, music is the tool Cymarshall Law uses to invoke the necessary change he witnesses daily. “All of these leaders in Hip-hop have spoken to me in ways that are thoughtful, intelligent, revolutionary, unafraid, daring, inspiring, and provoke positive change or action which is the same spirit of the leaders we once had in Martin, Malcolm and Madiba that we are so desperately lacking in today’s society.
In the midst of absurd accusations and belligerent banter from the current political landscape the future of this country is lost in the fodder of the media circus. One of the biggest problems with Hip-hop today, according to Law is the media’s lack of coverage of music with a message, but he’s not going to let that silence his voice as his hook incites a call to action.
I don’t give a F**k about radio play, I’m gonna say what nobody else wants to say.
We need less followers and more leaders, More Martin’s, More Malcolm’s, more Madiba’s
more students of life and more teachers.
