Based out of the San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles, the members of the Area 51 hip-hop crew are on a mission to remind today’s generation of fans of where the genres roots began: the B-Boy. MC’s Random, Apakalips, and Crow Magnum – all veterans in the game from the boom-bap era, are bringing the past back to the future with the release of their new album “2051: The Return of the B-Boy.” Spearheaded and Executive-Produced by industry A & R legend DJ Broadway, the man responsible for signing acts like Tha Alkaholiks and Xzibit, “The Return of the B-Boy” is a breath of fresh air for rap fans looking to hear some actual rhyme skills in a time where it seems like just anyone can be a rapper.
The crew recently released the album and it’s now available on digital platforms for purchase and streaming and to kick off its release is a new video from the project. For this song and video “From The West”, the crew teams up with longtime collaborator Che-Skizza, who’s a made a name for himself over the years on the Los Angeles underground scene. Veteran street dancer Funny Bones, an often featured dancer in videos and commercials, makes an appearance for all of the B-Boy dancers.
