West Coast OG Damu continues his movement towards a new LP release by dropping some of his classic records digitally for the first time. Singles “At Your Door” and “Legends” featuring Mitchy Slick dropped this week on Empire Distribution and Damu’s new label The Team Records. The South East San Diego resident is following up those two singles with arguably his most well known song “Keep It Real”. The track is a slow gangsta anthem that would get a deaf persons head bobbing. With a title like “Keep It Real” it is easy to guess what the track is about. The track starts off with a well know movie clip and drops right into the OG talking that truth. If you are not familiar with Damu, just ask. The man is known coast to coast for being a real one.
It took Whitey Bulger over a year to get Damu to even release any of his music. The man had some bad experiences in the past with the industry and sometimes that can be a really tough obstacle for a distributor to over come. But, with the help of fellow San Diego rap and street legend Black Mikey, Damu agreed to let the people here some of his dope music.
