Social media will make a joke out of anything these days, and a shooting incident at a recent Chris Brown appearance was no exception.
Early Sunday morning (Jan. 11), shots rang out during a performance by the singer at San Jose’s Fiesta Nightclub. Brown, who was not involved in the altercation, took notice of the situation, and ducked for cover in response to the gunfire. This, apparently, led to jokes on Twitter.
One Instagram user, pointed out the nonsense surrounding the nature of the jokes, posting a meme that read:

Are you supposed to stay and get shot?
Catching the attention of Brown, the singer liked the photo, and left a comment. Noting that only an “idiot” would “stand there and get shot,” the singer also addressed topics of leadership and individuality:
