N.W.A. is reuniting later this month for a show at the BET Experience.
Ice Cube, MC Ren and DJ Yella will perform tracks from their 1988 album “Straight Outta Compton” at the Staples Center on June 27, Ice Cube told Rolling Stone.
Although Dr. Dre isn’t scheduled to participate, Ice Cube said “you never know” whether he’ll make a surprise appearance.
“It’s like, I hope he blesses us with his presence,” he said. “But if not, I’ve been rockin’ for a long time without anybody. So whoever shows up, I’m still gonna rock. Whoever don’t show up, we still gonna rock.”
This could be the first time all surviving group members have performed together in 26 years.
Ice Cube also teased that N.W.A. is “dibbling and dabbling” on the soundtrack for their upcoming biopic “Straight Outta Compton.” The film, which hits theaters on August 14, stars Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Corey Hawkins (as Dre).
Kendrick Lamar, Kevin Hart, Snoop Dogg, Schoolboy Q, Miguel and Nicki Minaj will also perform during the BET Experience, which runs from June 25 to 28.
