The Dayton, Ohio artist has overcome life-changing obstacles, including an 11-year prison sentence and the loss of both of his parents. Rather than allowing those experiences to break him, he used them as fuel to chase a dream that had always been waiting for him.
The turning point came through a letter from his late mother, who encouraged him to embrace both his faith and his talent for music. Those words became the blueprint for a new chapter—one focused on growth, purpose, and creativity.
Since then, Raxz has continued building his profile through collaborations with artists such as Sally Sossa, Slatt Zy, and Trecinco. His hard work and consistency eventually caught the attention of XXL Magazine, which named him one of its artists to watch in 2022.
Like many independent artists, Raxz has faced hurdles behind the scenes, from securing distribution to staying motivated when recognition didn’t come overnight. Yet he continued investing in himself and his music, confident that his story would eventually reach the right audience.
That journey continues with the upcoming release of City of Dragons. Featuring production from Dayton producer Sauce Sinatra, Belgium’s Yung Steely, and contributors from 808 Mafia, the project promises to deliver some of Raxz’s most impactful music to date.
More than anything, Raxz wants his music to serve as a reminder that setbacks don’t have to be permanent. His story is one of transformation, determination, and the belief that every obstacle can become part of a greater purpose.
