We’ve updated the WeTheWest Community to give members more control over their feeds and more space to share music, artwork, and conversation.

You can now browse dedicated communities for Hip-Hop & Rap, R&B & Soul, Funk, Indie Rock, Punk & Ska, Electronic, and Alternative Pop. Choose one genre, select several to create your own mix, or switch to All Genres when you want to see everything. Your choices are saved to your account when you’re signed in. Visitors who aren’t signed in can still browse by genre, with their selection remembered in that browser.

When you create a post, you can now assign it to a genre community. That helps members find releases, videos, and conversations that match their interests. For something that crosses genres—or doesn’t need a label—choose General Music. Older posts remain available in All Genres.

The layout has changed as well. We removed the left and right content rails from Community, so the feed has more room for posts, photos, and artwork. The design uses the site’s theme colors, so it fits the style you’ve selected.

The Community features you already know are still there: profiles, follows, reactions, comments, saved posts, sharing, messages, photo uploads, and post privacy controls. You can still browse the chronological feed; genre selection simply lets you narrow it to the music you want to see.
